The Minotaur's Lair
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
7DRL The Minotaur's Lair
The object of the game is to run around the Minotaur's lair getting as much loot as possible before dying. At first the Minotaur randomly wanders from room to room but as you collect more loot he will start to follow you, then speed up until he's finally smashing walls apart to get to you.
The game can be played in real time mode or rogue time mode. Real time is exactly what it sounds like. In rogue time things only move when you do so you have time to think when things are getting hairy. But remember that chests and doors take time to open so after you press space you have to either wait or move for a door or chest to open.
CONTROLS:
- WASD for movement
- Y to throw ball bearings
- T to spike the ground
- Q to wait
- ESC to release your mouse
- SPACE to open doors or chests
ADDITIONAL v1.1 CONTROLS
- Left Mouse Click to throw ball bearings
- Right Mouse Click to spike the ground
TIPS
The Minotaur's ai works differently when he can see you and when he can't so its a good idea to run around the closest corner when he sees you. Also he won't go underground so its a good idea to have an idea of where the basements are when he really gets going. The ball bearings collisions are a bit off so its better to use them like pocket sand and throw them right at the Minotaur. Press t to plant a spike in front of a door to block the Minotaur from entering for a few seconds, just make sure you spike the right side of the door though. If you see blue gems, they were dropped by the Minotaur so if you see them he's not far away. Chests only spawn in rooms with one exit so you'll have to think about if its worth it to go for them.

Note for GNU/Linux users
Sometimes the Godot engine can be weird when exporting to linux so you might have to use chmod to make the game executable. After that it should work just fine.
